Hi All

just wondering how location services work and if it is possible appear in another location?

Take a look at an online VPN server you could use! That would be the easiest way to do it!

Then the VPN Service became to popular and was found out by reputation the was blocked! You have to shop around and find a small service yourself that many people aren’t using and try that!

Unless you are like in college setting then the college server might block VPN traffic!

I'm unaware of any method to install a VPN client on the Apple TV. DNS proxy services are effective. Some VPN services also provide DNS proxy servers which can be set up on the ATV. If yours does not, I have had good luck with Unblockus.com. There are many others.

You don’t install on the Apple TV you get a router that you add a VPN client in it!

My point exactly.

Netflix and others are blocking known VPN servers as you have said. Some Internet providers require one to use their router. I can not install a VPN client on my Frontier Fios router. My DNS proxy service works fine with Netflix and others and is a simple install right on the ATV itself.

I have Verizon FIOS, and even though they say you have to use their router, mine has been sitting in a drawer unused for quite a while. although i am still paying rent on it.

the wi-fi on theirs was abysmal, and i wanted VPN options.
now have a pfsense router, with a unifi wi-fi hotspot

have it set up so VPN is based on IP, x.x.2.x is normal, x.x.3.x is VPN, everything can talk to each other on my network, but calls to the outside world are routed appropriately.

and it runs a VPN service too, so anytime i'm away from home, I can "dial in" to my home network.

Try using a DNS blocker. I have been using it on my Apple TV as a workaround for sports blackout restrictions. I use unlocator.com. Its not free but its reasonably priced and has instructions guides to view whichever app you would like on whichever streaming device you are using.
