Lock Icon gone in Watch OS 9.6?

On my S7 watch with OS9.6, when I take my watch off and it locks, when I next go and put it on, it does not show the small blue padlock icon at the top of the screen just before I unlock it, like it used to do prior to 9.6?

Have Apple changed this ?

AW S8 on 9.6 here and it does show the icon

S7 aluminum with OS 9.6, I still have the padlock icon

...hmm, strange - mine's just this minute re-appeared?!

S6 on 9.6 and I have the lock icon.. What I don't have is the Apple Watch unlocking drop down notification on my phone when I use the phone to unlock my watch.. Disappeared when I updated my phone to 15.5 or possibly when I updated the watch to 9.5
