Lock Mac Mail Account Settings

Hi there,

I'm looking for a way to stop the editing of Mac mail accounts. My communal workplace MacBook has a couple of gmail accounts on Mac mail and one of them in particular keeps disappearing from the mail app. at first I thought this was a bug, but now I suspect it might be being deleted. Is there a way to stop users deleting accounts or is this actually a bug?

Absolutely. OS X is a multiuser operating system. Each user is supposed to have one [or more] separate accounts. This functionality is built into the OS. There is no need to add software wall off your settings and files from other users because the default behavior of the OS is far superior.
