Lock Screen is not working anymore

i need a little help here
back in snow leopard i used to click on the keychain on " lock screen "

what was happening on snow leopard is screen turn off with the apple on the back and the keyboard back-light ..

but on Lion its not happening anymore it just open the screen saver and the keyboard back-light doesn't

in snow leopard when i did it the sleep light start flashing but not as the same is when i put the screen down to sleep mode ..

please help ...
