Lock screen stuck in zoomed mode on iPhone 6 Plus?

I just noticed that my lock screen seems to be displaying in zoomed mode on my iPhone 6 Plus like a non-optimized app would do.

Is this intentional? It seems sloppy.

And no, I do not have any zoom turned on in settings.

Is anyone else seeing this? Or, perhaps, is anyone NOT seeing this?

iOS 7 on any iPhone did this, and it's carried on on the new phones and iOS 8. It's meant to make the time and battery easier to see at a glance I assume.
