Locked but with return for reward!

Locking iphone is easy enough, but if locked, how can I induce a good (or semi good.. quid pro quo :-; ) samaritan to return my phone without him seeing my data?
I want my iphone locked but with a reward and email available for the samaritans reward.

Put you phone number, email or message on the lock screen image. Any image editing software will let you do it. I've had it for years...

Enable find my iPhone. Whe. You lose the phone, lock it remotely and put a message up on the screen.
