I recently connected an old iMac G5 via Firewire to try and get it working again and i now have this locked HD on my MBP as seen here...

Any idea what is wrong? Or how i can unlock or delete it?

That looks like the icon for a time machine backup. I would eject it then launch Time Machine which should mount it properly and you should see it show up unlocked.
