Locked myself out of brand new iPhone 4S

I've had the iPhone for less than a day haven't had the chance to plug it into itunes yet, and have managed to forget (either siri or I forgot...) my four digit passcode.

iTunes wont recognize my iphone as mine to restore! Help!

You'll have to restore it. If iTunes still won't see it correctly, put it into DFU mode (Google it) and restore it from there.

Or you can bring into Apple store, they can restore it for you.
