locked out of documents

I was trying to lock a file with finder. and somehow I have lock Apple Documents. When I clicked on Finder. Under PLACES, I used to get a list, as follows. Desktop. My User Name. Applications, and Documents. I no longer have Documents in this list. my question is "How do I get it back

Just drag your Documents folder and put it where you want in that list. The entries there are simply aliases to the actual folders.

(Locking your Documents folder does not cause the icon to vanish from the Places list; I just tested.)

It probably disappeared when someone accidently moused over it and dragged it off the list.
