Locked out of ibook...solutions ?

hello,i'm a mac newb and i just received an ibook from a friend and it has two user accounts on it and he doesn't remember the passwords...is there anyway i can bypass the user login to get into osx or am i going to have to nuke my machine...any help will be greatly appreciated...thanks

or just format and reinstall which is what I would recommend if you have the install disks. Be warned, the first method I mentioned, I've not done it so I don't guarantee it'll work, but I've got a moderate amount of linux experience and it looks like it should work to me.
