My daughter has a 11 ProMax and she managed to butt dial herself into lockdown mode. The phone is fully disabled. She attached to her MacBook Pro and was told she had to update her software, but her computer didn't have enough storage to download the necessary files. She then attached to my computer and was given the option to update or reset - she choose Update because she has some not-backed-up images. Now, she is caught in an endless loop of "swipe up to recover." She does as instructed but it just brings back to the same white screen that says "Swipe up to recover". The Apple support guys say that she has no choice but to reset the phone and lose a ton of images.

Is there anything she can try before giving in?

The only upside is that she'll never fail to backup again.

Thanks
