Hello,

How can I lock a folder and all the contents, to prevent it being deleted?
Or files moved?

I had a weird glitch,
My external drive that I keep all my movies and tv shows on.
Had a bunch of the movies disappear.
I’m the only person that accesses the external drive.

1. In the finder, click the icon for the folder
2. Type "command-i" (eye) to bring up "get info"
3. In the "general" area, put a checkmark into the box "locked"
4. Close get info.

Does this work?

Something else, which you didn't mention:
WHAT FORMAT is the external drive?
Is it HFS+?
Or ... is it something else?

The drive is formatted as Mac journaled
I believe, I will double check
And I will also try the solution you mentioned and let you know
