I've been wanting to keep a file that lists my various login/password combinations since I'm a little over-cautious about a) storing them in my browsers and b) using the same one for each site (bills, email, forums, etc.)

Is there any way to password protect a specific file? Text, image or .pdf? I believe I'm able to compress and lock a single file using various compression programs, but if there is a way to simply lock read access to a file that would be ideal. Thanks for the help.

Put it in a folder and then password protect the contents of the folder.

Consider using the integrated Keychain program to keep your secrets secret.

I need to read up on keychain more and try it again, then. The last time I tried it was back in 10.1 or 10.2 and it was... not good.

Thanks for the idea on the folder, much appreciated.
