is there a way to lock a folder (of word docs for instance) so that it can't be moved, yet can be added to deleted from and docs changed? It appears that locking in the information pane prevents changing the docs. thanks

I think you just highlight the folder, right click>get info and then there is a little box you can "check" to lock it, and a little padalock will appear on the folder, and then it can't be moved....
