Have been using El Capitan Beta for several months, when the second build came out I installed it, but when I shut down my Mac, then restarted, the Apple logo comes up, the progress bar comes on...then...nothing, I leave it for up to 30 minutes and nothing happens, the progress bar stays grey and dead.
When the next build was released I installed it with the same results, startup gets to the progress bar stage then freezes.
Reinstalled El Cap and all OK, wakes up from sleep OK, but if restarted or shut down and started it locks up when the progress bar comes on.
Decided to wait for the official release version, same results.
Tried a clean install on an external HD to ensure it wasn't a startup disk problem, startup problem still there, I have to reinstall every time it happens, so I currently cannot shut down or restart my Mac.
Any suggestion please?
