Just installed iOS 7.1

I'm using a "Still Apple Wallpaper" as the Background on my Lockscreen (I'm using the first one -- the bluish image of space, galaxies etc.), with a passcode on my iPhone 4S.

I have "Reduced Motion" turned on, because I don't like the excessive animations in standard-issue iOS 7.1.

When I wake my phone, the Lockscreen Background zooms a bit. This didn't used to happen with iOS 7.0.

I saw this feature called "Perspective Zoom" being talked about in some websites. So I tried to switch it off. HOWEVER, my phone's wallpaper settings don't offer "Perspective Zoom" setting as an option. I'm thinking that setting may be exclusive to iPhone 5/5s.

Bottomline:
A) I don't want my Lockscreen Background to zoom at all (because it unnecessarily wastes my battery).
B) If anyone knows how I can set this in my iPhone 4S, please let me know.
C) If someone from Apple is reading this, please pass this on inside Apple: If I choose to turn on "Reduced Motion," that should include the Lockscreen Background zoom being turned off.

Update: turns out that
1) "Perspective Zoom" is available in 4S, unless "Reduce Motion" is turned on (as is the case in mine).
2) I'm told that this background zooming also happened in iOS7 (i.e., pre-iOS7.1). I guess I just never noticed it before.

My 4S has the perspective zoom option. Turning it off doesn't change that it zooms at the lock screen though.

Haven't verified yet, but if it still is zooming slightly, it kind of messes with the sharpness of a background that's native resolution.

I have a 4S and this did used to happen on iOS 7 even with reduced motion on. I think it's more of a fade than a zoom.

Doesn't bother me.

It's just a feature of waking up the phone to the lock screen that is not affected or controlled by reduce motion or other wallpaper/motion related settings it would appear.

Thanks for this -- I found that if I turn "Reduce Motion" off, then the "Perspective Zoom" option indeed becomes available.

Yep -- you're right. Thanks for reading.

True, it's not a nauseous as all the other animations... thanks for your thoughts. Somehow I don't remember this zoom happening pre-iOS7.1, but it could very well be that I never noticed it before for some reason.

Yes, I didn't remember this happening in 7.0.6 but definitely notice it now. I do find it a minor annoyance but I guess I'll try not to cry myself to sleep over it.

It was there in 7.0 too but it was somewhat more subtle compared to what it's like in 7.1.

I like the animation. It's quite subtle and non-offensive.

Mini Zoom Glitch

Almost looks like an animation glitch to me.

So I turn Perspective Zoom some off and I still get an unwanted zoom. Why can't I just have a static wallpaper which displays at it's native and perfectly sized resolution?

I'm pretty sure you didn't get this mini zoom on 7.0 if you enabled the Reduced Motion option.

I believe you still did on the lock screen, to a lesser degree perhaps.
