I'm curious if Carrot weather and Launcher by Cromulent Labs can also create Live Activities on the homescreen to create somekind of interactive functionality since the widgets on the lock screen still seem quite limited (similar to those on the homescreen). I did notice Carrot did tweet that they will support a widget on the lock screen but I do wonder if these developers also can and will use the Live Activities as well for e.g.:
- minute by minute precipitation (developers of e.g.: Carrot Weather, Hello Weather, Partly Sunny, BeWeather)
- Launcher (e.g. Cromulent Labs)
- calendar (e.g. DayHub by TotemRanks) with live travel time (by car, public transport, walk, bike) to an appointment
- live battery power of connected bluetooth/wifi devices in % (e.g. PowerToYou, Cloud Battery, Battery Status Overview and Charged?)
I am now still using the classic iOS8 widgets in the Notification Center / Today View area where are interactive but the developers that support this are pretty limited nowadays and there is a chance Apple will phase out support for these kind of widgets in general in future iOS versions (possible iOS16 already).
