Log files from a g5 motherboard/openfirmware?

Hi,

So I have 3 g5 quads that are all in various states of not working, or so I thought

I just inserted a HD with a working macos install ready to go, only to find it's magically turned itself into a single cpu g5

are there any logs that can be pulled from the machines motherboard that will show when it has been powered on off, obviously with the hard drive installed in it right now any log information I'm going to see is going to be confused with whats on the HD vs whats on the motherboard

any help with this would be appreciated,
