Hello, Newbie here!

I recently replaced my OS but i lost the (extremely sentimental) photo from the previous log-in page. Perhaps I should explain that this was the photo that appeared when the machine booted up and I was asked for a password. I still have the "Previous System" on file, so any help to retrieve that photo would be hugely appreciated.
MacBook Pro 2Ghz Intel Core Duo, model A1150, OSX 10.4.11, 1GB, 75GB.

Thanks vmachiel. I opened the home folder-->library-->Images-->iChat -->recent pictures folder, and the only item in there is /Recents.plist which only contains text saying Root. Any ideas please?

It's a folder not a file. You have to have it. It contains essential system software. Without it your Mac would not work. Look in your previous system folder and follow the path in my previous post.

^If you(Thread Starter) are looking for the icon picture, go to Users & Groups under System Preferences.
Just click the picture to change it.
