I have an iMac Retina 5k, 27 inch and since the upgrade to 10.11.6 when waking up from sleep the password fills in automatically like a key on the keyboard is stuck. I have checked the keyboard batteries and they are fine, but replaced them just in case.

Has anyone else had this problem since the upgrade? I have not added any new software. I have the Apple wireless keyboard and mouse.

Please clarify. Do you mean the password field automatically fills with the correct password, or that the password field fills with a repeated character?

Sorry, it fills in with a repeated character.

Do you have a different keyboard you could try?

Yes, I have already tried that and no change. The problem is intermittent and seems to happen more when waking the computer from a prolonged sleep, maybe an hour or more.
