Log into iTunes library remotely?

Say i had an apple TV at a friends house, is there a way to set it up so that i can log into the itunes library on my iMac at home and stream from there?

Say i had an apple TV at a friends house, is there a way to set it up so that i can log into the itunes library on my iMac at home and stream from there?

I tried it many years ago, with out iTunes though. However, the solutions using with VLC at the time were too complicated for me. Plus, I didn't even know if my router and IPS could be configured to do so.

Post solution or work around if you find one.
