Our network set up is that we have many Mac users, recently updated to Lion, that connect to a Windows server. To do our work we must mount multiple server volumes. Each user logs into the server with their name and password. We also have a "shared account" that we use for slave computers that run unattended, and that profile has different permissions.
Recently, some users have had trouble logging into the server. They had mounted the server manually as normal. When they went to access and save files, they did not have the right permissions. Upon investigation, the "shared account" user was the one logged into the server (looking a the server window where it says "connected as:your.name" and button for disconnect, it's the grey bar at top of the Finder window). These users never use the shared account to ever log in, and since the Lion update (complete erase and reinstall) the computers in question have never been logged in as the shared user as far as I know.
What could possibly be causing a different network user to "take over" a server connection like this?

thx, Chris
