Logging in with Apple ID - 10.15.4

Is it still possible to log into the Macbook with my Apple ID? I was able to do this on my older Macbook Air but it seems to have broken when I reset my local User password on my new Macbook. I updated Catalina to 10.15.4 after resetting the password, if that helps.

Basically, how can I associate my Apple ID with my local user account and login using my Apple ID?
