Hi. I want to set up my machine so when I turn it on it goes straight to the desktop without me having to type in my password. I unchecked "Disable Automatic Login" but apparently that isn't enough because I'm still prompted for my password. Anyone? Anyone?

Try this. Go to System Preferences -> Accounts -> (click the lock to unlock if necessary) -> Login Options, and mess with those. Perhaps check "Automatically log in as:" Hope that works for you!

If you are in System 10.4.x...System Preferences > Accounts >Login Options at the bottom of the accounts list. Then check Automatically log in as: (should be the first option in the right pane) and select your account name.

Thanks! I didn't realize that button for login options was a button.
