Logic Board Swap mid 2012 into mid 2009 13" MacBook Pro

I don't know if it's been tried, or if it's even a possibility... but my wife has a Mid 2009 13" MBP with a core 2 duo that's getting a little long in the teeth in spite of RAM and SSD upgrades.. however she refuses to let me upgrade her to a new computer because she loves having the DVD/CD player (she still get physical media and likes to play it from time to time... I know, I know)....

Anyway I was considering buying her a Mid 2012 13" MBP with the 2.9GHZ i7 as an upgrade.. however I came across one that has a cracked screen (still boots) and was wondering if it was possible to swap the logic boards between the computers.. any thoughtS?

IIRC there's some minor connector differences between the two, you're better off finding a good 2012 model in any case.
