Logic Platinum vs. Steinberg Cubase SX

I want to buy some recording and mixing software that delivers quality sound and has a lot of options for expanding sound with plugins, but doesnt' cost as much as ProTools.

I have narrowed it down to Logic 6 plat. and Cubase SX 2, I want to know if anyone has had experience with both and can tell me which is better, or simply the notable differences.
