Logic Pro 9 - Just For Music?

Hello All,

I am starting to play around with making short movies (strictly for fun) and in looking at ways to make my own sound effects I came across Logic Pro 9.

However, from what I can see, this App is primarily for music creation. Can it also be used for creating & editing sound effects to export to Final Cut Pro, for example?
