Logic Pro X Updated With Several Important Bug Fixes

Logic Pro X, Apple's software for professional audio editing, was today updated to version 10.4.1, with Apple introducing several important bug fixes to address issues discovered since the release of the major 10.4 update.

According to Apple's release notes, the update fixes an issue that could cause the app to quit when opening projects created with an earlier version of Logic Pro X, it ensures plug-in settings are properly installed, it prevents CPU usage spikes caused by ChromaVerb, and it fixes a few other bugs. - Logic no longer quits unexpectedly when pressing play after automation has been copied to another track
- Resolves an issue where ChromaVerb could cause unexpected spikes in CPU usage
- Zoom key commands now work as expected in the Audio File Editor
- Control-clicking on a note in the Piano Roll Editor no longer causes other notes to deselect

Logic Pro X 10.4.1 comes a little over a month after the release of Logic Pro 10.4, a huge update that introduced a new Smart Tempo system, new plug-ins including ChromaVerb, Step FX, and Vintage EQ, additional drummers, and more than 800 new loops.

I applaud Apple for their continued support of Logic and Final Cut Pro. It makes me wonder how those programs fit in with their long-term plan of MacOS and iOS development, which, based on recent trends, seems to indicate that the platforms are headed toward some sort of inevitable unification.

I'm glad the ChromaVerb CPU spikes have been taken care of. The reverb is brilliant but with the spikes it was useless. Thanks Apple!

Apple has certainly taken Logic Pro X and its users seriously from day one of their acquisition. A great app just keeps getting more powerful and polished.

Not only that, the Camel Audio acquisition has paid dividends too. What a great plug in suite to have by default.

That was an enormous relief – 10.4 was amazing, but the Audio File Editor bugs drove me to enough desperation to reinstall the previous version from a backup for the first time ever. I was quick to send some pleading feedback along with a few others, and it's gratifying to see this and other concerns addressed in a rather short time for a Logic update.

Same, since there's now a vacuum from Adobe abandoning the perpetual license. Was never an aperture user, but if LR NDE's could be imported, they'd hoover up a ton of users ready to jump ship with no options. By all rights, Affinity should do a spectacular job of a mgt app, but as of yet they haven't even started one.

Yeah , same. I'm a long time Logic user, I find Logic Pro X's team is really on fire, they're to be applauded for the continuous and solid development of LP.
But why, oh why kill Aperture ? It was the perfect balance of friendly UI and power. Nothing replaces it.

I eventually switched to Capture One, which is actually really great for editing RAW but useless for management. Love the Affinity Apps, but they are too small to swing the RAW converter market on top of Designer, Photo and soon to be released Publisher. We should let them stay focused on that.

Credit where it is due: Kudos for the Logic and Final Cut development. The amount of value for the money is insane. Good job, respective teams!

Absolutely. Whatever about complaints people have in other areas of software quality, Apple have exceeded all expectations with Logic Pro X. I continue to be impressed the more I use it.
