Hi
I'm looking to get a program (for mac) specifically for mixing and mashing up music, I do a bit of Djing on a numark total control on cue 5.
I'm a student so I can buy the logic studio for £112, logic express for £56 and Ableton live 7 for £199. ( or are there other programs better for doing this)
Help very much appreciated :)

i've never used logic
but i have used cubase, sonar, cooledit pro and ableton live

live rocks i love it.
i've been using ableton for about 2 years and exclusively for 1.5 years.

i perform in a duo called Lux Divon
we use live on stage as well as play instruments

try it see what ya think

they have a 14 day full on free trial
and after that you can still use live but you just can't save anything till you buy it.

for what you want to do it may be a perfect match
especially if you want to perform live.
