Login is slow with Snow Leopard

I have my computer password protected. Since the switch to Snow Leopard, why does it take around 5-8 seconds for it to authenticate the password? ?

maybe it has something to do with something in your startup or login group. Try disabling everything in there (tinkertool is good for this enable/disable action), and see if it persists.
