I'm trying to thin down my system to get it running smooth. I use extensis all the time, but what can I delete. What's an expanderDaemon?!

Expander is probably a reference to Stuffit Expander. You probably don't need it.

Gmail notifier is of course related to Gmail notifier. Do you use notifier? If no, then you don't need it.

The Adobe one has something to do with the new Adobe CS package. There's info here... http://blogs.adobe.com/barnaby.james/2006/12/the_adobe_synch_1.html

Oh, the iCal one is so iCal can send out scheduled e-mails even if iCal isn't running. If you don't use iCal e-mail notices then you don't need it.

The expanderDaemon that is ticked/checked is no longer on the system, hence the icon. Untick that one and tick the next one if you wish to keep it. You can remove all those items except for the iCal scheduler agent with no noticeable issues.

ticking the box only hides it on launch. you have to actually delete it from your login items to remove it.
