Howdy Friends,

I've got a 2.5 year old MBP with Leopard, 10.5.5. All of a sudden it's giving me the "login loop" I've seen discussed before.

Essentially:
  1. I login with my normal ID and password. It accepts it.
  2. It goes to that blue screen you get briefly before going to the Desktop.
  3. It sits there for 5-10 seconds.
  4. It goes back to the Login screen.

I can still work as I've been able to login as another Admin account, but this is crazy. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Matt

RESOLVED: I took the machine to the Genius Bar today and the Genius (who really did know his stuff) fixed it. Turns out the entry in the Open Directory for my user was corrupted. Don't know how or why, but it was. When we removed the entry using one of their special Genius apps, created a new user with the same name, it worked.
