Login screen after sleep not showing

I created a new account and have experiencing a lot of issues. Among those I have a problem with the login screen not showing after sleep. I still have to login when logging out and resetting the machine. But when I wake the machine from sleep it goes straight into ML.

Any suggestions? I guess it is some simple option that has not been checked.

Yup, this one's easy to fix. Go into System Preferences -> Security and Privacy. Unlock the pane. Check Require password [time] when sleep or screen saver begins. Change the [time] option as you see fit - I use immediately.
