My Mac Pro 5,1 is running Mojave 10.14.6. After the upgrade I was running into BLE disconnects and as a first step of fix shut down and reset SMC and NVRAM.

I am now unable to log in to the accounts. After entering the password it just stalls with the busy ring.

My backup OSs (High Sierra and Mojave 10.14.1) boot and log in fine.

Any ideas?

I have a recent CCC clone and am booting into that now. Might just restore.

My CCC clone from last night showed the same behavior. Some of the abs in /etc or other places might have been corrupted.
I am reverting to 10.14.5 first. It did not look like any of the critical database formats (Mail, Photos, iTunes) were changed.
