Hello,

I have a MacMini that is running Mountain Lion. It belong to a friend, they had gotten it from craigslist. I was giving him a hand fixing it, I usually am a windows guy, but have limited exp with macs and images them etc.

I used the resetpassword command, to reset the password for all users to blank.

After this, I was unable to login as the user Kiosk, it acts like its logging in, the the screen flashes white and returns to the login screen.

I went through the recovery, repaired user permissions from resetpassword. I also use the permissions repair tool, in disk utility.

This was all to no avail, so I went through the installing of another copy of Mountain Lion, via recovery.

Once it completed, the machine rebooted and was back at the very same screen...

This time i have wiped the disk and I am trying the recovery again.

I have a 10.6.3 disc, should I need to reload Snow Leopard?

Any tips and advice is much appreciated, thanks in advance.
