Hey, The login picture which i belive is supposed to be the traditional Purple Star and Space Leopard background as you login is missing.

Now it just shows up with a dull blue.
Im worried i may have deleted a file or messed my system up.
Please help.

The background is called "DefaultDesktop.jpg" if you open up the finder window and go to

/System/Library/CoreServices

have a look and see if the defaultdesktop.jpg is present. if not PM me i am happy to upload this somewhere
 
You can also place one of the other desktop background picture from Apple at that location. Just rename it as indicated above and you will have a custom login picture.
