Login with Apple ID when ID has changed

I have a mac mini running 10.11.

I use my apple ID to login.

Yesterday I updated the email address and password on my bApple account.

When I go to OSX login screen I am unable to login. I suspect because my email address has changed on my AppleID.

I have no other admin account to login to this MAC on to change the account settings.

Any suggestions on how to proceed?

You could reset your admin password rom the recovery partition.

I did not think that would work but indeed it did allow me to get into the mac.
