While a number of accessory companies announced their lineups for the new iPad Air and iPad mini with Retina display last week following Apple's media event, one big name in the business, Logitech, remained silent. The company has, however, now revealed its plans for the iPad Air in announcing a series of three keyboard case/cover accessories and a simple folio-style case for the new device.
The three keyboard products each feature a built-in Bluetooth keyboard with maximized key size for a fast and fluid typing experience. The Logitech Folio Protective Case offers tablet protection without a keyboard, and is Logitech's thinnest and lightest folio for the iPad Air.
The new products include the following:

- FabricSkin Keyboard Folio ($149.99): Water-resistant and wipe-clean surface offers a Bluetooth keyboard with full-size keys and extra shortcut keys for fast access to system function. The case weighs just 0.9 pounds and measures 0.7 inches thick, with up to three months of keyboard battery life on a single USB charge, and is available in three different colors.

- Ultrathin Keyboard Folio ($99.99): A similar general design to the FabricSkin Keyboard Folio, but not as water resistant and slightly thicker due to the use of individual keys. The Ultrathin Folio is the same weight as the FabricSkin model and offers the same three-month battery life, with four color options available.

- Ultrathin Keyboard Cover ($99.99): Protecting only the front of the iPad Air when closed, this cover weighs just 0.73 pounds and measures 0.29 inches thick. The aluminum cover include an integrated keyboard offering up to three months of battery life on a single charge, with three different colors available.

- Folio Protective Case ($49.99): A simply folio-style case protecting the iPad Air on front and back but without an integrated keyboard, this case is available in four different colors.

All four accessories are launching in November, but Logitech is currently taking pre-orders for the products. The iPad Air debuts in the first wave of countries this Friday, November 1.

I love the Ultrathin Keyboard Cover so much but every time I must remove the case from my iPad in order to use it, which is a major problem since I plan to buy the new leather Smart Case for the iPad Air...

Crap, well this answers the question as to whether the existing Ultrathin Keyboard Cover will fit the Air. Nope!

iPad (16gb) + keyboard for productivity = ~$600-$700....

I don't know about you guys but I would much rather spend the $400-$500 more and get a fully fledged system, a 13" air...

Similar thoughts have crossed my mind. Except, I would be doing a $929 ipad air. and eventually a cover. Not sure about the keyboard.

Then I'd rather spend the $600-700 more to get a retina MBP to get a more fully fledged system. Oh, let's spend even more to get a fully fully fledged Mac Pro!

I hear what you're saying, but $400-500 more is not insignificant.

Certainly, one option is getting a cheap bluetooth keyboard and you're just as productive.

I am assuming they'll have to do a new one for the new retina mini, which ticks me off, because the old one I have for my original mini was not exactly cheap. I guess there's a very small chance the new mini will fit in the old ultrathin keyboard cover for mini, but it seems doubtful.

I don't see why. The new mini is the same size as the old one, correct?

How come I never see someone at a coffee shop with a massive honking ergonomic swoopy keyboard connected by Bluetooth to an iPad or Mini? That would be awesome :)

Ultrathin Keyboard Cover for me! They beat Surface to that punch, and they work on a soft lap as well.

Usually I won't want a keyboard, so the magnetic quick-release is important. Down with bulky folios!

The 100th of an inch difference in thickness might affect some products, but I agree, it's probably a non-issue.

I think that question was answered when it was announced that the dimensions of the iPad have changed ;)

Not necessarily. The iPad Air is thinner, so it possibly would have still fit in the slot on the Logitech keyboard. Come to think of it, it may still fit nicely with a case attached.

I wish Apple would have come out with a keybord cover of their own. I think Microsoft has a small advantage by having one.

The iPad was never supposed to be a Mac replacement (even though we're close now). My new Retina Mini will be used along side my MacBook Pro, not instead of it; similarly to how my current iPad is used. A use case I don't believe to be uncommon.

Oh yeah, that's true. Since the iPad air is thinner, it should be able to fit in the thicker keyboard case.

Yay! I use the current one and have no issues. Will absolutely update to this when I get my new iPad.

I thought exactly this, but to be honest, I only use the keyboard for writing, and that's only 40-50% of what I use an iPad for. I love just grabbing the slab when I'm anywhere in the house and it's good to go. Can't do that with an Air. Also, the Air is not yet retina, so in some ways it's nicer. For pure productivity on OSX, I stick with my iMac.
