Hello, I have two Logitech Anywhere MX mouse. Both have some issues like when plugged in, the browsers automatically scored to the top of the page, sometimes non-responsive left mouse button. One bought about five years ago and the other about a year earlier than that. I found it hard to believe that both are not functionally. Could this be a software issue or issue with my MBP 2010 17"?

I doubt if it's a software issue, although I concede that's a possibility.

If you have a spare external drive running a different version of macOS, I'd try that. Also, try the mice with another computer. If you have problems in either of those scenarios, most likely the hardware is bad.

I don't have access to another computer. What I found out is that although there is no scrolling issue under Linux installed on the same MBP, the button also does not work.
