Logitech Communicate STX, any experience?

I'm trying to find a cheap webcam for my G4 iBook, can't afford something on the level of the isight. I've been looking at the Comminucate STX and I've only found two people who mention using it. One said it worked fine the other said it worked but wouldn't adjust exposure and would give a washed out video on skype. I've looked at macam and it lists this camera as working but I've read on this forum that macam is outdated and doesn't work for Tiger. Is this true? Anyone have experience with this webcam?

There's at least three revisions of this webcam. The first is a very nice cam, the other three are crap.

And how exactly does one know which revision is the good one?
