Hello!

I have a Logitech K780 multi-device keyboard (because it allows me to easily switch between my work PC, Mac mini and iPhone). It's great and I love it.
However, after finally updating to macOS Monterey, the Command and Option keys are switched after booting into the OS.
If I turn the keyboard off and on again, they go back to normal. That doesn't strike me as a real solution, though. Especially, since it Just Worked in Big Sur.

Does anyone have the same problem or maybe even a proper solution?
At this point, I'd rather not go back to Big Sur because I do enjoy universal control quite a bit...

Did you ever get a reply to your post? I experienced the same thing on my end. I found a solution that worked for me:
Press and hold the following keys for 2-3 seconds: fn + o (the letter o).

Hope this works for you too.

No, unfortunately, I didn't get a reply. I looked elsewhere too and found I wasn't the only one with that problem.

What I'm now doing is, I log in, quickly swap back and forth between my Mac and another device and then Cmd and Option are the correct way around 😆

I looked fn + o up just now. It's supposed to swap the layout from windows to Mac. Hmm... worth a try, I say. Thanks for the suggestion!

Did you install the Logitech companion app? I recall most of my logitech bluetooth assets worked much better with that installed and you could customize the keyboard as well.

I did, but it didn’t fix the issue.
I even downloaded the new firmware (albeit on a windows pc because for some reason it wouldn’t work on macOS) but no luck.

I did this now. It still doesn't save the layout, unfortunately, but it's more elegant than switching back and forth between devices that are using this keyboard. So, thanks for the tip :)

Hopefully, once Ventura is released it'll magically just work again as it did in Big Sur xD

I've got a K380 here, I do love that one as well. But especially for work I often find myself using the numeric block.
The 780 is too old to return, otherwise I might try it. I think I've had it for... 4 or 5 years now 😳

I have the issue where logi options won't detect either my K780 or M590 silent mouse a little while after upgrading to Monterey. This is a pain as custom controls like quick access to mission control don't work without it. Logitech haven't been able to resolve this issue yet.

Just open System Preferences->Input Sources tab and put a checkmark in box for "show input menu in menu bar"! Once that the Finder Window select 'Show Keyboard Viewer' to see your keys should best make you physical able to change them around!

Also to blow you mind open Terminal and put in command cal 1752 and see the change over from Roman caliber to Gregorian calendar time!

This is a software and/or firmware feature of the Logitech software and, supposedly, the keyboard's ability to tell which operating system you're on (macOS, Windows). Not sure how it does that, but whatevs.

It's possible that one or both doesn't support Monterey fully. Though at this point, when Ventura is almost out, it's kind of inexcusable.

Anyway, hopefully Logitech will get their game on and fix it.
