Just bought this as a standby for when my Apple mouse goes flat (frequently!). It has three switches, right, left and scroll wheel. Does the scroll wheel switch work on Mojave or is it only for Windows? There is no information with the product and nothing online.

macOS will support standard USB mice like the M100 with no issue whatsoever.

It does indeed, but the switch on the scroll wheel does not appear to do anything. Is it supposed to on a Mac (I believe it has a function on a PC )?

To control the center button's functionality, you can use a utility like BetterTouchTool to configure what it does. Unfortunately there's no built-in way to control it. Logitech's own "Logitech Options" app may be able to adjust the settings as well, but I don't have that app on my computers.

I use SteerMouse to program the various Logitech mouse features on my different mice, though I do not have a M100. SteerMouse has worked well for me, it is not free ($19.99).
Check it out:

No, BTT does not make the scroll wheel switch work. Not to worry. It's a perfectly adequate mouse for ten quid and works fine with left and right switches and the scroll. I was just curious!

It should, there is an option to configure what it does.

I can't find it. there is no download for the M100 for a Mac on Logitech's own site. There is a download for Windows and I believe you can configure the scroll wheel switch for a PC, but not, as far as I can discover, for a Mac. I have the Logitech Control Center on my Mac but it does not recognise the wired M100.

At the top of the BTT window, select "normal mouse" and then you can add triggers for the middle button.

I think if you use FireFox, and click that center button, you will turn on autoscroll. That works on Firefox, even if you have no customizing software installed. Firefox is the only software that I have used that will use that center button trigger by default, even on a Mac...

Thanks for this. I've downloaded BTT and found the "normal mouse" but there seems to be a lot of stages to go through to configure it. I've got to Click to Record a Mouse Button, but I can't see what to do after that!

really? I have one of those Logitech M100, and all I have to do is click that scroll wheel, and the autoscroll will toggle. I always have to remember that happens, so I go easy when using the scroll wheel, to avoid accidentally turning on autoscroll. Firefox is the only browser where I see that happen.
But, maybe that option is turned off in your own FireFox/Preferencs, scroll down to Browsing, and toggle Use autoscrolling off then back on. You should see your mouse cursor change each time you click your scroll wheel.

DeltaMac - you are quite right. My problem was that I didn't know how autoscroll worked. I now have autoscroll in Firefox. Unfortunately, my default browser is Safari! Still, thanks for the info.

I mentioned that Firefox uses that button to toggle Autoscroll, but there's lots of possibilities for that center button, I suppose.
What exactly do you need that center button to do? Setting up autoscroll is just one option, and it's not useful (to me) as a system-wide option.
Maybe you have another suggestion?

Well, I downloaded Better Touch Tool on cfrhr's advice and there are loads of options for the middle wheel but I can't work out how to program it! I'll have to read the BTT manual properly and see what I can do. Meanwhile your suggestion for Firefox, which I do use occasionally, is excellent - autoscroll is quite a nice feature.
