I have an early 2009 Mac Pro and bought it new. This entire time I've been using a Logitech keyboard and mouse on this system. Within the last couple of weeks the Mac Pro has stopped recognizing the Logitech mouse and keyboard. I connected an HP Windows keyboard and the Mac recognizes it but when I insert the Logitech dongle and try the mouse or Logi keyboard the Mac won't respond.
I'm running OSX Yosemite (because of the need to use older apps). I also have a 7,1 Mac Pro but use the keyboard and mouse that came with it, neither of which can be used with the Early 2009 Mac Pro due to the earlier version of Bluetooth on the older Mac Pro.
I've tried everything I can think of and recommendations from Apple support to no avail. One of the major issues is there is NO WAY to control the mouse cursor now. I also have a mid 2012 MacBook Pro and ran into the same issue with it even though I had previously been using a Logitech mouse with it since I bought it with no problems. I was able to get the MacBook to recognize the Logi mouse by running the Logi Options program since I could control the cursor with the trackpad. However that's not an option with the Mac Pro.
I tried using "Mouse Keys" on the Mac Pro but I don't know if it's because of Yosemite or what, but moving the cursor is like trying to park a tank between cars in a parking garage - it's just not gonna happen.
I'm thinking if I can get the Logitech Options program running on the 2009 Mac Pro I can get the keyboard and mouse to respond, but as yet, I haven;'t figured out a way to accomplish this.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
