logitech mouse very jerky on 2011 mbp

i started to use my logitech mr-0005 mouse on my new mbp and im noticing that the movement of the mouse is very laggy. however the jerky issue is only when i am moving the mouse to cover a short distance. i checked for a driver update but there is none. is there anything i can do to help with this problem? and will all mice be like this?
