Logitech MX anywhere 3 (regretting my purchase)

Is the software and the software support just crap? Can't update the mouse firmware, tried using unifying dongle and bluetooth. SOftware asking for to many permissions imo..

Is there any way to assign buttons without using Logitecs software?

Shareware apps (that work better):
- SteerMouse
- USB Overdrive

Both are small and lightweight.
I've been using Logitech mice for years.
But I've never used the Logitech software.

That is awesome! Do you know of anything similar that's released trough the App Store for Mac itself?
Interested in steer mouse, but a bit expensive with those 20$ and 12$ for every major release update..
