I just bought a Mac mini M4 and am using a Logitech MX Keys S keyboard and Mouse with it. I have two displays that the Mac mini is connected to and is mirroring the content from display 1 on display 2. I would like to have separate content on the two displays, but I cannot get the Mac mini to detect the second display even though it is mirroring on it. When I looked to see what displays it sees, only one of the two show up. I tried holding down the option key on the Logitech MX Key S (the Command Alt key) with no success of the Mac mini detecting the second display. I am doing something wrong with the keyboard? I have both displays on a switch which is connected to the Mac mini. Is this part of the problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Try extending the display instead of mirroring it and see if that's more to your liking. You can arrange them as well.

"I have both displays on a switch which is connected to the Mac mini." - yes, that's likely the issue. Each display should be plugged into a separate port on the Mac mini.

(There ARE devices that allow multiple independent displays to connect to one port, but it's seldom worth the cost on a mini... can be worth it for a laptop for easier disconnection when using it portably)

Thanks. I was using a switch which had both monitors plugged into the switch. Once I removed the monitor with HDMI and plugged it in separately directly into the Mac mini, it then recognized both monitors and I put different content on each one.

You are correct. I unplugged the monitor which used an HDMI plug from the switch and connected it directly to the Mac mini. No more issues. All is working as I expected. Thanks for your comment.
