I apologize if I’ve asked this before, but the well meaning responses has still left me in a quandary. I’d like to use the thumb buttons on the MX Master 3 mouse to reload the previous Safari page, and then back again.

In the past I’ve been informed to use the “Accessibility” controls under the System icon. So far I haven’t been able to figure out the exact steps.

If anyone can give me a detailed “how to” program the mouse buttons I would appreciate it greatly. I’m currently using my iPad Pro to drive a USB-C Dell monitor. Just as a fill in until the ARM Macs arrive. My old 12” Macbook finally bit the dust. So I’ve resorted to the iPad/monitor setup. Not too bad, but for me it is just a temporary work around.

Open Settings
Open Accessibility
Open Touch
Open AssistiveTouch and enable it
Go down under AssistiveTouch and open Devices
Select MX Master 3
Now you can assign actions to listed buttons.

For this to remain active, you need to have AssistiveTouch enabled when the mouse is connected.

I don’t think there’s a button assignment to previous page (Slide left gesture).

Oh, too bad. Thanks for letting me know. I really enjoy using it on my Mac, I was hoping to use the “back and forth” gesture on the iPad. Maybe I’ll need an ARM Mac to get the best of both worlds ;) At least that is what I’ll tell my spouse ;)

OP here. Small update. I did find using the ”Command Key” and the “Arrow Key” (L&R) does let me move back and forth between pages in Safari. I’m using an MX Master Mac Keyboard. Maybe this is old news to most, but I thought I’d share it.

Yeah. If you hold the command key down, it will show a list of available keyboard shortcuts.

Anyone having an issue with imac not recognizing MX Keys or Master 3 for Mac upon Log in? Bluetooth recognizes both after I log on but I have to use a connected keyboard in order to type my password. Very annoying. It's only on the log in screen after a shut down or restart.
