so I've acquired one of these - logitech t400:

Logitech%20T400%20Zone%20Touch%20Mouse-380-75.jpg

works surpisingly very well out of the box on my macbook pro, considering it is infact designed for and only supported on windows. one qualm that i have and would like to fix if possible .. the middle click, which is actually the glass touch zone as can seen above, is split into two buttons (scroll notwithstanding). the front half is a dedicated windows function (n/a), and the back half is your standard middle click. i'm a CAD-monkey so do my fair share of middle clicking to pan / swivel / etc. and i'd really like to have the whole touch zone dedicated to middle clicking. as in, both front middle and rear middle. currently the front half does nothing.

i figured i'd be able to overwrite this with my trusty steermouse application but the 'front middle' click is not registered to any button at all. i had a quick play around on usb overdrive too to no avail. unfortunately the logitech mac software is of no help as this particular mouse is not supported on mac.

if only i could get the OS to simply recognise that front middle click, i'm sure i could assign it as i pleased. is there any way to have my computer do this? surely there's a solution.. script or something?

a mouse that i feel comfortable with is hard to come by these days and this fits the bill bar that one issue so i'm pretty keen on a workaround.

cheers,
thom.
