Logitech today announced that its popular Slim Combo and Slim Folio Bluetooth keyboards have been updated with support for sixth-generation iPad, which means they're now available for Apple's most affordable tablet.

The Slim Folio was previously available for the fifth-generation iPad and is also now compatible with the sixth-generation model, while the Slim Combo was previously limited to the iPad Pro. The new Slim Combo is compatible with both fifth and sixth-generation iPads.

Priced at $100, the Slim Folio is designed to turn the iPad into a laptop replacement, with a lightweight design and well-spaced mechanical scissor keys, along with iOS shortcut keys. It also serves as a protective case for the iPad, keeping it safe from scratches, drops, and spills.

There are two different viewing angles, so it can be used in a typing mode or a mode for watching videos and playing games, and the new version includes a holder for the Apple Pencil.

The $120 Slim Combo offers similar features, but it has a detachable keyboard and an adjustable kickstand for more versatility. Like the Slim Folio, the Slim Combo is a lightweight Bluetooth keyboard case that lets you type anywhere.

For the sixth-generation iPad, there is a built-in Apple Pencil holder to store an Apple Pencil when it's not in use, plus it comes with backlit keys. Unlike the iPad Pro version of the Slim Combo, which connects to an iPad Pro using the Smart Connector, the Slim Combo for iPad connects via Bluetooth.

The Slim Combo and the Slim Folio can be purchased from the Logitech website starting today.

I’ve been using the “slim” Combo for well over a year now and I love it. Sure it has a few drawbacks. It’s not that slim and it’s heaven. The keyboard feels way better than my Apple Smart Keyboard and it has backlight keys. But my favorite part is the kickstand. I’ve found so many uses for it that it was worth the money all by itself. The kickstand makes the 12.9 set up even for lap use. I hope the next version is more slim though.

My wife had the Slim Folio case for the 2017 iPad. The corners have broken off and can no longer hold the iPad in place.

I would not recommend these.

The only thing great is that you don't have to charge these cases. I heard the battery lasts 4 years.

I have the case for my 12 inch iPad. Love the keyboard and the pencil holder. Hate the kickstand. Super uncomfortable if you try and put it on your lap. Also sucks on airplanes and any place there is limited desk space. Would prefer a flat surface like the Bluetooth version. But I don’t want a Bluetooth keyboard. Love the smart connect. Wish Logitech would combine these two versions into one.

I’ve carried mine around the world with no issues until a few months ago one of my corners broke off. I used a little super glue and glued the corner back one. No issues since. Can’t even see the line where I glued it back on. IPad snapped back in and out with no issues. I couldn’t really blame the case. I’m not easy on my cases and have replaced two Apple smart keyboards, three Apple smart covers and one Apple rear cover in the same amount of time. All in all for me its been a great but. I just hope they actually make a slim version next. Lol

I’ve had the opposite experience with the kickstand. It’s my favorite part. I use it in my lap all the time including while in bed. It really helps me with the size of the 12.9. I basically live on airplanes for work doing international relief projects. The kickstand works perfect for me on economy tray tables. The backlit keyboard has increased my productivity while on long flights. The footprint isn’t really any bigger than my MacBook Pro.

Same problem here. I bought the Slim Folio case for my wife's 2017 iPad and one of the corners broke off. It's a pity that we did not find the corner so that we could try to glue it back on the case again.

The case has been treated very carefully and it should not have been broken so easily. To bad since it was/is a good case/keyboard.

Update: I contacted Logitech and they replaced the broken keyboard without any hassle at all. Kudos to Logitech for their very good support!
