I just picked up the Logitech Wave cordless desktop. The keyboard is fantastic, the mouse on the other hand seems to have a mind of it's own. I installed the Logitech Control Center software and the only keyboard differences are special keys for itunes, iphoto.
The software also programs the mouse. It won't let you just program the keyboard. The scroll wheel also changed, but I liked it the way it was with the auto scroll that went up and down. The software has something called cruise control which just goes in 1 direction that can be set. A lot of time when I clicked on File in the top bar it would just start scrolling through each choice on it's own. When I plugged in my old wired mouse, the functionality I had set up was gone. The functionality I had with the old mouse also worked with the cordless, but it still did some flaky things. I have ceased using it.
I uninstalled the software and lost the special buttons on the keyboard, but my old wired mouse works as it always did. I will just live with not having the special buttons on the keyboard.

Does anyone else have this problem with the mouse included with the desktop?

I have a powerpc 20" iMac running Tiger 10.4.9.
